We are the direct decendents of Albert Galleo "Bert" Thompson and researching the lines of his father Edmund Presley Thompson, his grandfather, John Simpson Thompson, his great-grandfather Andrew Elliot Thompson, his great-great grandfather Andrew Thompson, Sr.
Starting in Washington, D.C. in the late 1700's the family line has traveled west through Illinois in late 1820's and on to settle in the Chickasaw Indian Nation in Indian Territory about 1868, some 20 years before the great land runs that settled Oklahoma.
From Oklahoma we have scattered far and wide. Our Thompson Family Site is helping keep the family close regardless of the miles.
What's the weather doing in the old home state? Is the river running, are the floodgates open at the lake? Check the links at the left for the latest.
Reunion Fun in Colorado! Vina's Family Hosted the 2007 Family Reunion in Rifle CO!
From the stories we hear, everyone had a great time in Colorado and Bette & Bill made sure all the tiny little details were covered. Many Thanks to Vina's family for the great hospitality. All the brothers and sisters attended except Louise who remained in Okeene while Merlyn undergoes Chemo. Those attending included: Vina Sharp of Colorado, Loyd of Nebraska, Norma Jean of Missouri, Jim, Jerri, & Melvin of Oklahoma
Someone said the count this year was around 45-50 people. Small by normal reunion standards but fun just the same.

Hannah, the red-headed daughter pictured above just returned from Entebbe Uganda where she spent six weeks working with an Aids Clinic. Katlynne, the dark-haired beauty above, will be working in Kansas City missions. We are very proud of both of you girls for your dedication and beliefs. Find out more about Hannah's travels on her blog at the link below.
Please keep David in your prayers. He enjoyed his visit home last month, but is back in Iraq to complete this tour. Paula and the girls sure enjoyed having Dad back home for awhile but as always R&R is way too short. Cards, letters & packages from home are the order of the day!
